Agree with Magicman on Dallas.
I like the 49ers and Colts chances of covering as outsiders
And I make the Vikings favourites in their games at the Bears so I’d pick them too
I too quite like Dallas at +6, I don’t see it being a massive scoring game - with Dallas grinding McFadden for some points.
Miami +8 looks decent too - again as I see it being a close game. Miami have suddenly become shit hot, passing, rushing, defense.
Minnesota +0 seems fine/ridiculous, I don’t see the Bears being that good.
Some of the other lines look a bit off. Houston and Oakland seem over rated. Carolina too probably.
Adam - I’m glad you have posted. I really wanted to play New England but if I do, all 5 picks have to be submitted tonight.
Your Cowboys logic also seems pretty sound.
I think the Cowboys front 7 can get to Wilson. Also I think Byron Jones the Cowboys rookie Cornerback is great in coverage and can shutdown Jimmy Graham. In week 5 he covered Gronk and I think he had about 4 catches for 50 yards his worse game of the season.
I was going to put my selections in last night, but glad I didn’t in the end.
Whilst I would have had a win on the board, I don’t like having to submit all selections on a Thursday, I had a nice bet on the Pats instead.
I’m still struggling a little this week, no games are really standing out like they have done previously. I’m going to do some more research tonight.
If it helps I think the Lions are slightly over priced this weekend (Sorry Jon)
But then I thought the Dolphins could have given the Pats a run for their money on Thursday night there…
I’m on the Lions in the comp, think this will be a big scorer
I’m now watching the lions play, it would seem I have under estimated how far the lions have fell. All over the field they are failing time and time again to make plays. Its sadly one of the worst displays I have ever seen. As I write this Stafford just threw his 2nd pick. I had a great week last week on the betting front, this week however has been diabolical lol, Apologies for the terrible advice on this one.
no more scores and my in play recovery bet of 21-31 win margin will come up, providing a profit…
Well that went poop v quickly, think I’ll lay off the rest of the games this week. Worth mentioning that the Chiefs were also a lot better than I thought heading into the game.
I managed a +3.5 point week which should help me retain my lead at the summit. Pretty happy with that as I found last week extremely tough. I’m 32 from 40 so far going into the half way stage.
What happened to the Detroit Lions team that played so well in Seattle last month???
Dont want to blow smoke up your ass Dean but only getting 8 wrong so far is extremely good, good luck moving forward…
Thanks Gordon.
80% is pretty unsustainable but I reckon if I can hit 60% for the rest of the way I may 'cash’
Its been good fun so far and I do appreciate any assistance and guidance by the forum.
WEEK 9
Cleveland (+11) @ Cincinnati (-11)
Green Bay (-2.5) @ Carolina (+2.5)
Jacksonville (+0) @ New York Jets (+0) EXCLUDED
Miami (+3) @ Buffalo (-3)
Oakland (+4) @ Pittsburgh (-4)
St. Louis (+2.5) @ Minnesota (-2.5)
Tennessee (+8) @ New Orleans (-8)
Washington (+14) @ New England (-14)
Atlanta (-7) @ San Francisco (+7)
NY Giants (-2.5) @ Tampa Bay (+2.5)
Denver (-5) @ Indianapolis (+5)
Philadelphia (-2.5) @ Dallas (+2.5)
Chicago (+4) @ San Diego (-4)
Bit of a tough one.
I like Green Bay -2.5, just about.
I’d take Miami +3, just about…
Atlanta -7 please (Gabbert!).
Giants -2.5 probably worth a shot.
If I had to take a 5th, probably the Chargers -4, although Steelers -4 and one of the Eagles/Cowboys could be interesting.
Yes it is hard this week. For me it’s
- Tennessee +8 The Saints DEF is like a sieve, can’t see them winning by 8.
- Washington +14 coming off the bye not out of the division race. I think the Patriots switch off a bit and this will be close.
- Tampa Bay +2.5 as I think they beat the Giants
- Dallas +2.5 as I think they beat the Eagles.
- Green Bay -2.5. I think they win by 3 points
I like Denver - they have been consistently good and Indy consistently ropey for the last few weeks
Washington - clear outsiders in the game, but not 14 points
Carolina - They have taken care of business, while GB were horribly exposed last week
Probably rounding out with St Louis as the Vikes have looked very ordinary even though they’ve got to 5 wins, and Chicago as SD have no players left!
Thanks for your input guys, it’s very useful to me as it helps me confirm my own selections and gives me a steer on which way my competition may be leaning.
Adam - Betfair Site has Atlanta at -6.5, that half point could be crucial if your punting on this one.
