Do you get your money back for 4 correct? (PP, Coral or Will Hill?)
My bets was with Bet365
Didn’t know about them offers we all as a community should really chat more and share these things and more importantly bets/tips if we feel strongly about things put it out there so others can decide whether to follow in or not as I am useless surely ‘you consistently in the black’ punters like you and Alan must surely be better than me as I loose fortunes so following your advices would I am sure mean I am far better off then just doing my own thing.
Noel - You & I could chat for hours and hours about gambling and betting strategies (and we have to some extent). If someone like you (with your experience and knowledge of American Football), is losing cash on NFL, you haven’t got much chance on other sports. You need to identify where you are going wrong. Not knowing the cash-back loophole above with 3 of the most popular firms is school-boy error stuff, unless Bet365 were giving you much better odds you should be covering yourself with that concession.
You are correct to say that collectively this site should help one another to gain and edge, but until you have one, i’d suggest reducing stakes as it’s obviously ‘doing your head in’ and stopped been fun which it really should be.
I don’t want to preach to you as I know my betting education is time-served and I’ve suffered loads of set-backs which I ‘think’ I’ve learned from.
WEEK 7
Seattle (-6.5) @ San Francisco (+6.5)
Buffalo (-6) @ Jacksonville (+6)
Atlanta (-3.5) @ Tennessee (+3.5)
Cleveland (+5.5) @ St. Louis (-5.5)
Houston (+4) @ Miami (-4)
Minnesota (-2.5) @ Detroit (+2.5)
New Orleans (+4.5) @ Indianapolis (-4.5)
New York Jets (+9) @ New England (-9)
Pittsburgh @ Kansas City - EXCLUDED
Tampa Bay (+3.5) @ Washington (-3.5)
Oakland (+4) @ San Diego (-4)
Dallas (+3.5) @ New York Giants (-3.5)
Philadelphia (+3.5) @ Carolina (-3.5)
Baltimore (+7.5) @ Arizona (-7.5)
This looks like quite a hard week Dean. This is my 5 in order of preference:
-
Dallas +3.5 (NAP) Cowboys are treating this like a season opener. Flying to New York on Friday to pay respect to 9/11. All players back on Defence. Cowboys coming off the bye.
-
Carolina -3.5. At home and a much better team than the Eagles.
-
New York Jets +9. Expecting a close game. I would have spread at no more than 7.
-
Atlanta -3.5. Would think they will bounce back after poor performance against Saints.
-
Oakland +4. San Diego were so near to winning in Green Bay last week and they should have beaten the Steelers the week before. Think they might get caught cold at home by the Raiders off the bye.
All the best
Yeah I quite like Dallas this week, but haven’t placed a bet (yet). With Weeden gone and Cassel in, things should improve. Then there’s the debut of Christine Michael (albeit shitty for me in fantasy as the owner of both Randle and McFadden!). Dallas will see this as a bit of a reboot. But New York aren’t bad, so it’s close.
WEEK 7
3. Home Atlanta Falcons (-3.5) (* Falcs were away)
4. Home St Louis Rams (-5.5)
8. Away New York Jets (+9)
10.Away Tampa Bay Bucs (+3.5)
14. Home Arizona Cardinals (-7.5)
I decided against the Raiders at the last minute and substituted the Bucs (thanks Anders & Brad for assistance on that one). I think the Lions will be a popular pick at home getting +2.5 and if this had of been +3 I would have stuck them in.
Sorry for the blatant ‘brag’ I had to post that, as I may never get the chance to lead the game again. I never thought I’d want a season to end but I wished it ended tomorrow
Brag away fella, your in good company. I really hope you you snag the prize!!
Some games you have a strong feeling for. Last week I felt very confident the Panthers would win in Seattle even without the +7.5.
This week I feel the same way about Dallas. If I’m right about that one I think I will have proved to myself I have some idea what I’m talking about. However, if I get that wrong I think it will prove that sometimes I’m right and sometimes I’m wrong and that there is no consistency to my picks, which isn’t really ideal when betting.
Weird most books have the Lions down to +1 now on the handicaps and that’s with out the big news I’m sure breaking that AP is looking a big doubt for the game as he’s picked up a virus - even if he does play he wont feel 100%. At the moment from what I’ve read it’s more likely he won’t play but naturally Vikings don’t want to admit that till the last minute.
Sounds good to me Noel, I got on your Lions straight up for the win at 5/4 earlier in the week. Can’t begin to tell you how bad the Vikes looked last week (and we STILL lost to them!). Hope you win today mate - and then lose big next week
Another good week, very fortunate with the Falcs, rushing to get my selections in at the last minute I stated the home team thinking Atlanta were at home. Very lucky to get that pick in the win column.
Just need the Cards for a 5&0
Just 3 out of 5 for me. Wrong on Atlanta and totally wrong on the Cowboys. Well Done again Dean
Cheers Majicman, that was a really lucky week, grateful for the Jets making that 55 yarder at the end of the game and glad I didn’t trust the Lions. One third way through the comp and I’m well placed to get in the money (only top 7 get paid). Need the Cards to show up against the Ravens tonight and I’ll increase my lead by at least a point at the top.
(are you in the comp?)
No, I did think about it but couldn’t afford the entry. Perhaps join in next year in a group effort.
I’ll just keep giving my picks and logic behind them which may help you.
Much appreciated, there was discussion about a joint entry earlier but there seemed to be a load of grey-areas surrounding the rules of selection submission.
I decided to take a leap of faith, mainly because ATS is my favourite style of NFL betting and I have made modest profits betting this way previously.
Next season i’m sure there will be a few team efforts submitted which will be good fun. Please do keep submitting your selections especially if you have a strong lean to a particular game. I’m not saying I would use it but you may help me narrow down my short-list or prevent me from going the wrong way.
WEEK 8 - This looks super tough, any pics guys?
Miami (+8) @ New England (-8)
Detroit (+4.5) @ Kansas City (-4.5)
Arizona (-5) @ Cleveland (+5)
Cincinnati (-1.5) @ Pittsburgh (+1.5)
Minnesota (+0) @ Chicago (+0)
New York Giants (+3.5) @ New Orleans (-3.5)
San Diego (+3) @ Baltimore (-3)
San Francisco (+8) @ St. Louis (-8)
Tampa Bay (+7.5) @ Atlanta (-7.5)
Tennessee (+3) @ Houston (-3)
New York Jets (-2) @ Oakland (+2)
Seattle (-6) @ Dallas (+6)
Green Bay (-3) @ Denver (+3)
Indianapolis (+7) @ Carolina (-7)
Tough week on paper. I would go for (in order)
Dallas +6 . I think the Seahawks are over-rated. Cowboys on a 4 game losing steak but are reaching the point in the season where they can’t afford many more losses. Have a feeling the Cowboys Defence turns up in this one and wins them the game outright.
Pittsburgh +1.5. A win for the Bengals and the AFC North Crown is there. With Big Ben likely back I’m taking the Steelers +1.5 at home to come through.
Cleveland +5. Arizona coming off MNF on a short week. I like the Browns to give them a good game.
Detroit +4.5. In this one I think the coaching changes may give the Lions the edge.
Tampa Bay +7.5. Talk of a blowout in this one. I think the Falcons are slightly over-rated and I think the Bucs can keep this close.
All the best
