Sorry I’ve been absent from here for 24hrs - nightmare weekend, car failed MOT and cost of repair is more than cars worth so need a new motor ASAP, popped in Toby yesterday on way home from poker but manager I been dealing with was not there and server girls didn’t seem to know enough about things… to top that off I seem to have misplaced my phone and can’t find it.

Good news everybody - I found my phone and called the Toby 3 times today and last time I got hold of the new female manager called Kelly - she said if people go in and say they are with the ‘NOEL’ party she will give you a day pass to put in your cars windscreen - no hassles, no faffing with money in the pay and display machine and job done. I will reconfirm this with her later in the week to make sure she has informed whatever staff are working as knowing my luck she won’t be on that day and no one else a know about this agreement so I will re-confirm with her everyone knows the score.
Hope that allays your fears everyone coming by car - as for venue not suiting I thought it’s been fine first 2 years, reason I picked it was being right next to a train station for those coming by public transport but there are pubs in town am sure would be happy to host us - also I could another year use pub I do my poker league in as I’m friendly with the landlord now - just not sure if room size would be ideal but could try it - naturally parking for that pub would be on street as pub only has 4 spaces out front but being in an estate there’s no yellow lines or nothing it’s just first come first to find a spot in street or surrounding streets nearest pub.

I’ve just checked my ipad photo gallery… I took a pre draft picture which is timed at 12.30, and a picture of the completed draft board at 6.30
So that is 6 hours as a worst case - but in reality I don’t think we actually made a pick until at least 1:00, and were finished by about 6:00 (four blocks of 1 hour drafting, split by three 20 minute breaks after rounds 4, 8, 12 - would add up to 5 hours)
Anyone got an advance on my shaky maths !!
And bear in mind Noel’s draft is 1 round less
Cheers Jon, As long as we start on time at 3pm i cant see it being an issue. And at worst id be happy making it to the 3rd last round if things did get delayed.

One of these years you need to stay over and if you don’t want a hotel cost book an early flight home - come on the piss post draft and then I’d get you back to airport for flight home by either sticking you in a cab or getting you on an early morning bus / train to Gatwick.
I would offer my couch (and am) - but am embarrassed how messy my place is plus my couch is small and well un-comfy - as I have fallen asleep on it many times watching late night sport to wake up with a creaky neck and back ache hours later.
I know, I had full intention to this year. But booked a bank account busting trip to California in October which I can’t really afford, so cutting corners costwise as much as possible :-/

I’d prefer to not be dealing with any cash on Sunday as gonna be stressful enough trying make sure all goes well and I plan to be doing a post draft pub walk like some of us did post curry last year talking about NFL related things and socialising so really don’t want risk of losing cash that’s not mine. Also if people see wads of cash on me / in my wallet can make me a potential mark for a mugging late at night so hence prefer Pay Pal. You can use bank cards via Pay Pal with no fees to send money to friends / family.
Noel - I’ll pay for Shani tonight when I pay for my entry - later tonight.

We’re close to the big day now - genuinely getting excited!
Just to check then, the plan is to meet at 13.30 for those eating lunch and then start the draft at 3pm?
I’m planning to drive up so will be hoping to rely on getting a day parking pass - have you been able to reconfirm that these will all be available yet Noel?
Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday. I’m planning to get there by 1pm, if not a bit before then, just incase anyone’s about early as well.
