Have you seen the NFL SUPER CONTEST - SPREADEX

I already got my main bet of the week wrong when the Texans went poop on TNF.

Just to throw it in the mix however and in contrast to Anders, I think the Cards are a sensational option at -2.5…!?

My 5 would be

Jacksonville +2.5
St Louis +10
Washington +7.5
San Francisco +6.5
Pittsburgh +3

Dangerous picking St Louis but I think this will be a close game.
Jacksonville Could win outright. Washington +7.5 is I think too much.
The Giants struggle at home and I think the 49ers will put up a fight on SNF.
Think the Steelers will win outright.

I used to bet on the NFL. This would be a good week

my 5 would be:

Chicago + 10
Cleveland + 6
Jacksonville + 2.5
Arizona - 2.5
New England - 8.5

Good luck

Here’s the five I picked. (Picks have to be in on Saturday afternoon).
2 Sun 18:00 Buffalo (-2.5) @ Tennessee (+2.5) HOME
3 Sun 18:00 Chicago (+10) @ Kansas City (-10) AWAY
5 Sun 18:00 Jacksonville (+2.5) @ Tampa Bay (-2.5) HOME
6 Sun 18:00 New Orleans (+4.5) @ Philadelphia (-4.5) HOME
7 Sun 18:00 Seattle (+2.5) @ Cincinnati (-2.5) HOME

Game I was most uncomfortable with is going against the Seahawks. Dalton wont get the cheap easy passes away to Eiffert & AJ Green but hopefully the running game is on form at home.

I’m guessing most of the league will lump on the Pats, so I’ll be cheering on the Cowboys. I really wanted to add the Steelers in but instead I think i’ll bet them big on Monday night & ditch the bet if Michael Vick is not performing in the first qtr. Bryant’s questionable injury was also a concern (how can he be injured after a 4 game holiday??)

Am I missing something on Tampa? The Jags are slowly turning into a decent team and their D are decent this season. The saints may also spring a surprise… I would love that…not because I follow the Saints but because I’m mildly enjoying Chips troubles :relaxed:

Yeah, I don’t get how Tampa Bay are favourites - I’ll definitely be placing a bet on Jacksonville, their offense has been pretty good this season, and could be really good once they figure out the Redzone.

I’m just wondering whether to place a single bet on the Jags or double up with the Bills. Mariota might turn it on though so that game’s a close call.

Gordon, Adam - I’m with Dean on this one. The Jags have allowed plenty of pressure on Bortles , and I think Gerald McCoy and the gang will deliver more of the same. Also Mike Evans Had looked good on and off in the last couple of games and I just reckon he’s well overdue a TD.
That’s not to say I think the Buccs are a great team by any stretch of the imagination - I just think they are maybe 60-40 favourites

fair play Jon, I got what your saying… I just thnk Jameis is a problem rather than a solution at this early stage of his career.

The red zone solution is coming fella, his name is Thomas ; )

Winston should improve game by game (starting tonight with a bit of luck). Players like Evans & Jackson around him should enable him to move the ball around.

Looks like another 4 out of 5. Well Done some great selections there

Isn’t it 5 out of 5?

Yep 5/5, needed Dallas to take down half or the league. The 49ers did some damage to some competitors covering the spread last night. I think a lot are also on the Steelers so I’ll be routing for the San Diego Super Chargers tonight.

Bit worrying that the pics for the guy in second wasn’t published? Surely he put in his entry?

Yes 5 out of 5, what a week. Glad I didn’t enter the contest I’d be at about 50% with some of my picks

Great picks Dean (you were right about the Buccs!) - I might have to copy yours next week to place my bets, my NFL bets this season have been pretty rubbish

Bucs are not a team I would normally use a pick on, but they really needed to win this one. Apart from the QB situation, the offense looks pretty solid, Vincent Jackson is consistent and Mike Evans is well overdue to start producing. Shame they are on a BYE this week as it could have been the start of a good run for them. Jacksonville could be an interesting week 6 team against your Texans.

I’m just glad to stay in contention and I would urge anyone thinking of having a go next season should ‘pretend’ play this year, it should be a useful exercise. In theory all 32 teams are in play most weeks, 5 from 5 is very unusual and I can’t believe I’ve hit a full house twice in 5 weeks, chances are I won’t do that again. I suspect the winning score will be around the 61 & 24 mark. (85 pics during 17 weeks), so you need to constantly hit 3’s, 4’s & 5’s every week.

I’m currently 20 & 5 going into week 6, probably tied 1st after tonight’s game, (the current leader is on the Steelers +3)

How are the other guys who post on here doing?

Nice job, Dean!

I have 15 points so am a fair way behind now.

That can change in one week Dave, you’re still in the hunt at 15 & 10. 60% is my normal ATS success rate, you only need a couple of good weeks to put you in the money.

Week 6 looks really interesting.
