E-mail??? Do they acknowledge receipt.
Did you guys read the rules when they were posted over three months ago??
I’ve known that it was email entry since I first found out about this and assumed you had read the rules as well considering how you were against the method (or lack thereof) of publishing entrants selections.
I will be signing up tomorrow. Not an ideal set up but will be good fun and a chance to win decent money
I was asking as you have the benefit of entering, I was wondering where you receive the picks from and how you subsequently submit selections.
Sorry for all the questions, I do want to enter (and 90% sure I will).
I don’t mind answering questions, I was just surprised that you were querying something that I thought you already knew!
As for this week’s picks - I haven’t received anything yet. I assure you, I have definitely signed up for this so am not holding anything back.
It’s worth noting that the SuperContest lines are published on a Tuesday night/early hours of Wednesday, so - if they are following the Vegas approach - they might copy those lines for this comp.
No worries, that’s good info. I’ll probably do my own lines before theirs are published then see if I can use my own numbers to influence which games I play.
I think £250 is about the right entry fee and I’m hopefully I’ll stay competitive for the whole game.
I look forward to a weekly discussion on this comp and with a bit of luck (a lot of luck) a forum member will win it.
I’m going to use my system but I don’t think I’ll be 100 percent using it for plays. Just like with my betting, if there is something it brings up that I don’t like I will either pass or refer to other handicapping approaches.
As for the £250 - if you look at it like it’s £14.70 a week it isn’t so bad, is it?
Yeah less than fifteen quid a week is a fun bet. I hope they get the number of entries this comp deserves, I think I heard the top prize in Vegas this season is $1,000,000
I would hope it’s £10,000 here
Yeah, it’s looking like it’ll be a record turnout for another year in row.
My gut is telling me it’ll be lower than 10K over here!
They’ve emailed me the links to the lines for this weekend.

If you look below, there’s another table where the players’ picks are going so our little campaign worked!
Ok now this gets interesting, outside of Dean and Equinnoxx in thier own single man bids is anybody going in on this? Like in a group effort?
I’ve signed up tonight just working on my selections
I’m also happy to be part of a syndicate, but I don’t want the responsibility of submitting the picks.
good luck Dean… not sure if I will get involved, I am actually already over invested with 2 leagues, madden league and seasonal bets… I like to keep it simple.
I’m giving it a go although, the past couple of seasons I reckon i’m only in the 60% range ATS, good enough to scrape a profit but not enough to win something like this.
I’ve always wanted to do the Vegas comp so this is he nearest I’m going to get. Should be fun, if I do get anywhere close to the money I’ll be happy.
Can’t wait til 6pm on Saturday to ask you some questions, Dean lol.
Hi Equinoxx (what is your real name?) If you join the whats app group, id be happy to discuss anything on there with you.
Looking at the points spread from earlier on this thread, have the 49ers really gone from -3.5 to +2.5, if so that’s a huge swing.
Question for you and anyone who is playing, when do you anticipate submitting your pics? Surely later the better (eg. Andrew Luck is ill on Friday night)
My real name is David. I think you’re the Dean who won the Phil Steele yearbook from my newsletter so you have my real email address if you haven’t deleted it.
I intend to put my picks in on Saturdays.
As for the 49ers, when I get this newsletter published (it’s 95% done) you’ll be able to see what the Vegas sportsbooks original lines were on the day the schedules were published as they set up lines for the first 16 weeks and I will have a spot each week where I have the early lines for readers to compare them to current lines.
Anyway, as you asked about the 49ers, I had a quick look and they were even shorter than the -3.5 from earlier in this thread. They opened -4.5!
Hi David
Many thanks for the magazine, I have previously read Phil Steele’s NFL guide, its very intense.
I never realised there are such large variations from the Vegas books. I just wished I’d lumped on the Vikings with a 3.5 start now, I can only imagine that line was made when AP wasn’t fully signed up for 2015.
I’ll be doing Saturdays too.
My picks are now in.
See you tonight
