Evening all. Time to do this again…!

To any of our returning players from last year - welcome back! To any new players - welcome!

This is now the main league thread for the 2026version of the Originals League - the (unlucky?) thirteenth year of TFP’s original fantasy league with its live in-person draft day.

At the twelfth attempt, we finally have a repeat winner - great work by Chris, to reinforce the view that Al was holding him back in the early years of the league!!

This year’s draft will take place on Saturday September 5th - in a break from tradition, Ben “Shacko” Shackleton will be hosting us in the cultural paradise that is Leeds.

From the date of this post until the end of April, the league is open only to returning managers from the 2025 season.

After that point, it is first come first served for anyone wanting to join the league.

The cost of league entry will remain at £125, the same as the last few years. You are signed into the league only when you have paid!

This is a live draft league – as always, preference is given to managers who can be at the draft day in person.

Are you still dealing with the money aspect Jon or do we need to contact Ben?

Also I do not 100% know until the time if I can attend. It’s awkward. Happy to pre-pay and try to arrange a proxy / replacement to attend live to draft on my behalf or buy me out if it transpires I am unable to attend.

I’m happy to pay - what has made me hold off is you want live in person drafters - and quite rightly so - but I really do not know if I can attend in person until almost the day. I have tried to find a back up proxy to attend on my behalf if I cannot make it but without success. So am stuck… :roll_eyes:

Hi all,

Only a month till the Originals draft weekend :grinning_face:

I’ve got some updated information for you, plus I need to know three things from you:

* are you around on Friday evening?

* are you around on Saturday evening?

* let me know three NFL teams

Friday Evening (Sept 4th)

I will be in Leeds on Friday evening. I’m assuming some of you will be as well, so just let me know if you are planing to be around.

I’m not going to do much organising for this, but if I know who is about, I will keep in touch with a proposed pub to meet at / place to grab some food

Saturday (Sept 5th)

The draft venue we were meant to be using has cancelled on Shacko - so the venue is now Hoist House

Address is 5 Wellington Pl, Whitehall Rd, Leeds LS1 4AP

(It is only about 60 seconds walk from the original venue)

Hoist House opens at 11:45 am. Shacko and I will be there ready for the doors opening, hopefully you can all be there by 12:00 so we can do all the usual set up, order food, and be drafting by 12.30 or as close as possible

Mr Shacko has supplied two prizes for draft day - I have no idea what they are! We will take a break in the draft after rounds 5 and 10, and will award a prize at each break.

After the draft, we will go to Box Leeds - we can have a beer and a debrief of how the draft went.

There is also the prestige Premier League encounter between Hull City and Aston Villa kicking off at 5:30 for those who want to watch :soccer_ball:

After the soccerball finishes, I will book a table for a meal at about 7:30.

Could you let me know if you will be around for the meal, as I am assuming we will need to book in advance for a Saturday night in the city centre?

(@Rick_Spangle - I will message you before booking anywhere, to check they have something you can eat without dying!)

Draft order

We will pick draft order the same way as last year:

Send me the name of three NFL teams.

I will add up their points scored in week 1 of the NFL preseason - whoever gets most points in total, gets first choice of draft pick.

If two people get an identical total, the tiebreaker is whoever predicted first - so there is an incentive to get your asses in gear and send me your guesses
