FPL - WINNER TAKES ALL - 2023/24 (Money Leagues)

This will be the nineteenth year I have run an online mini-league on the Premier Leagues own fantasy football game.

Quite simply - register online, select your team and then if you wish join one or both of my mini leagues.

website address: Fantasy Premier League (FPL)

My Classic League is £15 (£10 + £5) total to enter. This is because of the new Cup competition FPL introduced last season in Classic Scoring Leagues. So, the extra £5 entry per team is to make the prize for the Cup winner.

However, there is no Cup competition in The Head-to-Head league so it is just £10 to enter.

The first league is what’s known as a ‘classic’ style league - where we are all in a league together and your total fantasy points scored decides your position in the league and at the end of the season whoever is top takes home the number of entrants in the league x £10… hence the league name being: WINNER TAKES ALL & the eventual winner of the new Cup competition will bank the number of teams in the league x £5.

I RESTARTED my Classic league this season as FPL gave me the option to do so - which means anyone who played in it last year will automatically be added to my league this season if they do a team on the new FPL website so as I cannot be sure everyone will want to play for money in my classic WTA league again this season I will delete any unpaid for teams once the season starts. So, if you do want to play in this league this season make sure to pay your entry fee(s) before season kicks off. If you’re new to my FPL leagues or did not play in my leagues last year these are the codes:

Classic

Name of this league: WINNER TAKES ALL entry fee - £15

Code to join this league:

The other league I run is a ‘head to head’ style league where you are matched with another opponent in the league each week of the season and your weekly score versus the person you’re playing decides whether you win, lose or draw and like in the real Premier League you get 3 points a win, 1 point a draw and nothing for a loss. Those points decide your place within the league and with this league whomever is top of the league at the end of the season wins all the money (as the head-to-head league does not have a cup competition and I have chosen to have no knock out rounds).

Head-to-Head

Name of this league: HEAD 2 HEAD - W.T.A. entry fee - £10

Code to join this league:

So, in both leagues it works like this - 1st place at the end of the season takes all the £10 wonga (so # of teams x £10 = prize).

But also, in the Classic league the extra £5 entry fee goes to make up the internal Cup prize. (so # of teams x £5 = cup prize).

The more teams, the more prize money on offer - so go recruit your friends (but not if there any good)!

FPL lets you join many leagues but you can only have one team and that team is in however many leagues you join - so it’s no more time consuming to join multiple leagues. So, if you’re doing this game already think about joining one or both of my money leagues - after all it’s only a few quid and you may win a nice prize for your season’s efforts… always more fun when there’s money on it - don’t you think?

You can play in these leagues from anywhere in the world and everyone is welcome. However I seem to get brand new names every season join and no contact is made to pay so from now on anyone who has not paid the entry fee in the Classic league will be deleted during Gameweek one and in the Head to Head league I will have a cull on the first day of the season before first deadline is reached and remove any unpaid for teams. So, if you truly want in to these money leagues make sure you pay before the season starts.

If you’re new to my games and don’t know how to pay me or simply forgotten just e-mail me, PM me from here (TFP forum) or hit me up on my Discord channel Discord / BLM fantasy games and I’ll send you the info. upon request.

PS - I keep winners history records for all fantasy games I run so thought you might like to see the history for my FPL money leagues (perhaps your name can appear here at the end of this coming season):

DELETION ALERT

Sadly 3 weeks into the new football season and we still have some unpaid for teams in both the Classic (£15) & Head to Head (£10) leagues. Below I will list those teams / players who have not made contact with me nor paid for their entry/entries as yet. If this remains the case as we move into September then they will be deleted from the Classic league (as that league I restarted so some will be carry overs from last year) but those in my Head to Head league as it was a brand new league and a code had to be used to join they will be added to my Welchers list here:

Alas in ‘Head to Head’ FPL leagues you cannot delete people once the season has started, so instead they will be unable to win any cash prizes and the prize pot will have to be adjusted down. An e-mail will be sent to everyone in my contacts naming and shaming those who joined this ‘Head to Head’ money league but did not pay to let people know why the prize fund is down and show everyone who thinks it’s okay to join a money league and then not pay the entry fee!

Okay the 9 remaining Unpaid for teams (listed above) in my FPL Classic ‘Winner Takes All’ league have been Suspended (aka deleted).

This leaves 30 teams in my WTA Classic league and can confirm the prizes are as follows:

In my FPL Head to Head ‘Winner Takes All’ league I got 19 paid entries and one welcher - Joe Prince (team listed in above post) - who I was unable to delete as season had started before I realised he had joined and not paid. This is on me and I am sorry folks I was not able to hoy him out before the game started. He cannot win any prizes and will be ignored. I’m sorry he has the potential to skew the league and will try to be more on the ball next season regards deleting unpaid for teams in the Head to Head league prior to the start of season. But for the 19 paid entrants you are competing for this prize this year:

Have fun!

BLM Fantasy Money Games WELCHERS

So another FPL season comes to a close and yet again we have a new champion, so congratulations (Samuel Eastham) who has won BLM’s Classic FPL ‘Winner Takes All’ league for this season (2023/24) and bags a nice £300 prize pot for his troubles! Commiserations must go to runner up Damjan Rupnik who only lost out by 1 solitary point. With the leader having captained Haaland and him doing nothing in the final Gameweek I bet Samuel sweated buckets hoping Salah would not score and luckily his Assist was not enough by the thinnest of margins for Damjan to go ahead.

For me, t’was another shocking season finishing down in 19th place (an improvement on last season’s 27th place finish, but still a whopping 190 points behind this leagues winner). I wish I could be better at this game but as hard as I try I just can’t seem to figure out a strategy that is remotely competitive. I think not finishing with a Chip unused would be a good start - rookie mistake right there, unforgivable really! However I am a glutton for punishment, so do not fear as I will be back again next season to set this league up and throw my money away!

So, who can bag the honours next season?

FINAL STANDINGS (Classic)

Also, congratulations goes to only our third ever FPL WTA Cup winner - grecian2010 (Ian Wray) who bags himself a not to shabby £150 for his efforts.

The Cup was a new optional spin off competition FPL introduced from the 2021/22 season in Classic format FPL leagues.

FPL CUP FINAL RESULT

Finally a very big congratulations goes to rdamjan (Damjan Rupnik) for topping my ‘Head to Head’ FPL WTA money league in back to back seasons. Yes, when I was updating my winners history I see he also won this league last season to - so it softens the blow for his coming second in the overall classic league by taking down the H2H version again for the second straight year. I am amazed someone nearly won both versions of the league with the same team - he is most certainly one to watch out for in the future to measure your progress against. But I digress, for winning my FPL WTA H2H league for the 2023/24 season Damjan bags a cool £190 for his troubles - as we had 19 paid entrants - plus sadly one WELCHER (non-payer)!

FINAL STANDINGS (Head-to-Head)

The welcher situation means alas next season I will not be publicly posting my league’s joining codes here on TFP forum and only giving out the joining deets to people after I receive their entry fee(s). This is to avoid this occurrence of people joining my league but not paying up. After all, these are money leagues. I think I also had about 9 unpaid for teams in the Classic league too, which I ended up deleting about 3 GW’s into the season. It’s just not on - why join a money league if you’ve no intention of coughing up the entry fee?

So, will it be you winning this league next season or will Damjan three-peat (or perhaps another previous seasons BLM WTA H2H winner bag another crown)?

Look out for details posted here (The Fan Pub forum) when FPL launch their game for the 2024/25 season and get involved. Also spread the word as new joiners are always welcome - as long as they pay the entry fee(s).

@Scottb26 You would do better making this a fresh post on the forum - start a new thread. For one thing new threads get posted on TFPs Discord channel by a Bot automatically so more eyes will see it.

Another thing is this thread will hardly be looked at now as it was for last season.

Lastly hi-jacking another persons thread might confuse some folks as to who’s league is who’s, so not cool as our money leagues are not associated with each another.
