Brad has been in touch said he will pay today and when he does that will lock down his spot and fill the league. Job done.
Yay! Good work Jon and Noel (and Brad!)
Awesome
See you all on Sunday
Yeh well done guys, good to know we have a full house
Started doing a few 16 man mock drafts. Itâs so much harder than 10-12 man leagues!
Canât wait till Sunday.
I always find the difference quite staggeringâŚenjoyable and frustrating lol
Noel,
Had dinner with Jon Cartwright last night and will see him again this
evening. I will travel up to Reigate tomorrow late morning and will have
the afternoon and evening free if you want to get together.
I am on my US mobile +1 954 296 9192 and will check in with you in the
morning.
Drew
Forgive me not calling a US number buddy - are you on Facebook, Twitter or Skype as I have all them on my phone which can be used for free communication I do believe between phones?
I will try to get to bed earlier tonight as I usually stay up nights and sleep mornings to be able to be ready to go out and do something. Noel
Shout out to all those still in the Redhill / Reigate area the Bank Holiday Monday.
If you like a game of poker (Texas Holdâem) I have my monthly league game going on - turn ups and one off players are most welcome - itâs only ÂŁ20 (ÂŁ15 + ÂŁ5) Buy-In. Games usually last for between 3-4 hours. Itâs a very friendly little pub and we play out the back in like a conservatory. I sadly normally only get an average of 4 players a month these days (the poker bubble burst imo compared to when loads of people played it several years ago).
Any way if your interested just message me and I will send you an e-mail with all the rules in and give you pubs address - I will be driving myself so could pick people up and drop off after game at Redhill train station no problem.
Hey LM/All TFP Original league members,
Just being up front hereâŚ
There was some chat leading into last weeks games about the possibility of not presenting a full line up for the week. Dean raised the point and considered if there was a penalty. I politely admit to not really knowing what he was referring to. This week I plan on not playing a D. The jets are on a bye and I donât want to drop anybody.
I checked the league details on TFP to see if it was mentioned there but I cannot locate such a ruling. I also checked our league settings but nothing there. Finally I checked NFL fantasy rules which our LM usually refers to, there was nothing there that I could find either.
Am I facing a penalty for not playing a D?
I recall last season having discussions about the options of playing (or not) defence any week, since the D can at times cost you points rather than make you points. I also recall not fielding a full team last season on one particular week because I had planned all season to take the 1 week only bye strategy. Thinking about it further if this was indeed a current ruling it would certainly impact on how one drafts and Iâm certain it would also affect the way people spend their WAB goodiesâŚ
Just looking for confirmation that this is not a rule that currently exists within our league?
Many thanks guys
G
I am sure Noel has mentioned this before Gordon, and it is fine to put someone in your team who is injured/suspended/on a bye week. He has rules to stop this in his free leagues, to stop people giving up on their teams - but does not apply these rules in his paid leagues. Will see if I can spot the thread where he mentioned this
I donât recall making a set rule in this league as I think I assumed anyone paying such a large entry fee would be serious and make serious decisions so can confirm there is no rule.
Jon is right that my non money leagues (that some of you are in) I certainly do have rules in all of them and the rule is if you leave a spot open or start a player who is ruled out before there actual game day and do not win your match up (tie or loose) then due to having possibly adversely affected the league you get a strike for each player/infraction. In all my free leagues itâs 3 to not be invited back the following season (3 strikes and OUT so to speak) and if you hit 6+ in same season I will look to replace you in running as you obviously are not committed enough for my liking. Also in my online Show Me The Money ÂŁ20 league the strike rule applies (as I see it in the rules I host on NFLUK) but being a money league no one gets kicked out as you paid for your spot (do as you like) but should you hit 3 strikes or more I donât invite you back following season as I have a waiting list of players wanting in to that league.
So there you have it - no rules was made on this in TFP Originals and unless I feel something is really wrong with this can leave it down to individual GMâs - however so people know itâs a conscious decision would be quite good to post what ya doing (and maybe why) on the leagues wall. What I want to avoid is anyone whoâs out the running for post season throwing a game to help a friend etc., etc, - not saying any one would but really donât want anyone to even think there could be even the remotest possibility of such collusion going forward - you get me guys?
LM/Jon,
Thank you for taking the time and yes Noel, I think thatâs loud and clear.
Cheers!
G
I considered dropping my Rams this week (away at Green Bay), apparently Rodgers never throws an interception at Lambeau, but thereâs not much to choose from on the Free Agency. I would still rather use a team than leave the spot blank though. Of the Motley crew thatâs available, I think the Raiders or Jags would be my pick, both should get at least one turnover.
Wow, such a good team to drop. Re fantasy I personally think if you have one of the top scoring defences you almost have an additional player when compared to those in the league who have a mid to low performing D. Unless the rules stated otherwise I would only drop a good D if there was another to pick up. After all a poor D can cost you points.
Hope Seans prediction of 7 wins and youâre in is correct. After getting beat by Al & Chris this week, Iâm staring at 4&2 and most likely 4&3 next week.
I should be able to scrape 3 from the remaining 6 fixtures but nothing is assured. What are the tie-break procedures?
Your opponent next week is 1&5, Iâm sure youâll be ok
Not sure how the tie-breaks are done but I donât think it is points scored (which would make sense). If you are in the hunt when Dez comes back I think youâll be fine!
My 1&5 oppo just got an unbelievable leg-up with the seasons best trade.
Looking at the way the league table is listed today it would appear that points scored is the tie-breaker (not sure I agree with that??)
On paper it does look like a great trade for the feelers however it does hang on Lynchâs ability to stay loose/healthy.
We need all the help we can get. I fear its too late for us to do anything now. Waited too long to act really.
